Funeral/Memorial Service Meal Options
During this difficult time, we would like to assist your family in planning hospitality for the funeral or memorial service here at St. John's. We have developed the following options for you to choose from. You can decide what is best for your family and call us at the church so that we can set things up for you with the help of our members. If you have something else in mind, we will do our best to accommodate you.

Option 1: Service only; no additional arrangements needed.
Option 2: Desserts, coffee, beverages provided and served by volunteers.
Option 3: Church volunteers provide a meal for the immediate family.
Option 4: Church makes arrangements with a caterer for the number you request. (The caterer will bill you directly.) Volunteers from the church help serve the meal.

Please call Sarah Belden at 307-733-2603 with your decision. Thank you, and may you find comfort in the days to come.

Pastoral Care Team
The Pastoral Care Team is a group of individuals from St. John's Parish who have committed themselves to be companions in Christ for people who are struggling with significant changes in their lives.

The members of this team have undergone months of training on the dynamics of grief and loss; confusion and disorientation; anger and recrimination. They have learned to listen and encourage their care receivers to come face to face with the dark times in lives. They have practiced what to say, and even more importantly sometimes, what not to say. They have learned to pray with you and for you and to be your companion for the next part of your journey home. If, in your quest for wholeness, professional help becomes warranted, the care giver will refer you to a member of the church's professional staff for further conversation or referral to the appropriate health care provider.

Within a few weeks a member of the Pastoral Care Team will call and invite you for a cup of tea or a conversation in the park or simply to share how you are faring. I urge you to take an hour or so to remember your beloved and invest in your healing. Everything shared is completely confidential.

In the darkness, you are not alone. It would be our honor and our privilege to accompany you through this valley of tears.

"See how much the Father has loved us! His love is so great that we are called God's children - - and so, in fact, we are. This is why the world does not know us: it has not known God. My dear friends, we are now God's children, but it is not yet clear what we shall become. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall become like him, because we shall see him as he really is."

- 1 John 3:1 & 2

Columbarium:
The columbarium is operated by the Episcopal Church in Jackson Hole. St. John's Columbarium operates under the guidelines of the St. John's Columbarium Trust, is supervised by the St. John's Columbarium Trustees and is licensed by the State of Wyoming Insurance Commission.

Interment within the church for the cremated remains of loved ones is available in St. John's Columbarium. St. John's Columbarium is located in a quiet chapel on the north side of the sanctuary. This sacred space within the confines of our church provides a special place of remembrance. The niches are located behind beautiful fossil rock squares, each concealing four spaces.

Upon the death of a columbarium holder, the rector arranges with the family of the deceased for interment of the ashes. An urn is obtained through the church office. No other items may be placed in a niche. After interment, the name will be inscribed on the stone face-plate of the niche. The columbarium is accessible when the church is open, and at other times by arrangement. The columbarium is maintained by St. John’s in a manner conducive to prayer and meditation.

Fees for the columbarium are $1,200 per person with no interest and payment plans available. All fees for a columbarium niche as established by the Trustees shall be paid in full to the Trust prior to the issuance of the license for interment. Fees include the urn and the perpetual maintenance of the columbarium. If you wish to use a credit card, please use our online payment form.

Holy Baptism:
Arrangements for a baptism may be made through the parish office. Sufficient time should be given since the church requires some instruction for parents and godparents prior to baptism. Download the application at the top of this page, fill it out and mail it to the address at the bottom of the page.

Parents should keep in mind that godparents represent the Church and should take great care in selecting them. Godparents should be practicing, baptized Christian. In keeping with the tradition of the Church, the sacrament of Baptism should take place in the context of one of the regular Eucharist services on Sunday mornings. It is a wonderful and moving experience when the whole worshipping community renews its own baptismal vows and joins in the prayers of welcome for its newest member.
